Impasto paintings on display
Island Lake resident Babara Sistak Bauer’s “Sweeter by the Dozen” impasto paintings will be on display through Sept. 30, at Caffé Luna, 6230 Route 14, Crystal Lake.
The paintings feature trays and trays of edible delights before they’re placed on the dessert cart. The jelly rolls and custard tarts still were on the bakery shelves when they posed for the painting.
The café is open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
For information, call Lynn Carlson at (815) 459-9151.
